Two of the procedures used for improving acne-related scarring are:
1) Dermabrasion, where the area can be "sanded down" with a small rotating
wheel. There will be some scabbing and swelling that will probably last a
couple of weeks.
2) Laser Resurfacing, where the outer layer of skin is vaporized with a laser.
This procedure may be more precise than abrasion, but may also
require a longer healing time.
If you are serious about doing something about your acne scars, ask your primary physician for a referral to a dermatologist.
