Lactose intolerance is NOT an allergy in any way, shape, or form.
Being lactose intolerant means that your body does not break down the sugars (lactose) found in milk properly. Your body needs a lactose enzyme to break it down, such as lactate tablets. A lactose intolerance will typically cause bloating, gas, upset stomach.
A milk allergy is an immune system response to the proteins found in milk (casein and whey). When the body sees the milk, the immune system attacks it like it's a sort of poison to the body, although it is not. It can cause profuse projectile vomiting, asphyxiation, and can result in an emergency trip to the hospital and in the worst case, death.
Your distaste for milk has absolutely nothing to do with allergies or lactose intolerance. There are many people who would love to consume a food that they are allergic to.
