If OTC med isn't working, you might need to consult an allergist. Depending on how often this happens, you might benefit from a steroid medication. Best not to have to rely on it forever but.... that is something a doc would have to advise on. Steroids stop the body from producing histamines and are usually rather effective, but of course can have side effects depending on type, dosage, and frequency of use. Hope you find a solution! =}

Non Drowsy Claritin-D (Loratadine) usually works. If not, another good one is Benadryl (Diphenhydramine). If all else fails, you can always go to the Dr for advice. But I have used both in the past for different allergies. Claritin for "seasonal" type allergies and Benadryl for "contact" or "medication" type allergies and they both work great on me. Benadryl, unlike Claritin will likely make you tired though, so be careful when/if you take it. Good luck.

I'm allergic to most grasses too. Unfortunately, no medicines work for me. I've taken allergy shot for years and have taken every medicine I can and I still have problems with grasses. I don't go around freshly mowed yards, or where someone is mowing. I really hate spring too, because the grass starts gowning and the pollen is in the air. I even take an allergy blocker called Xoliar. That's a medicine that has to be given is as a shot and cost $8000 dollars a month. Still I get sick every year from grass.
