Hi guys

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is the use of various forms of nicotine delivery methods intended to replace nicotine obtained from smoking or other tobacco usage. These products are marketed for use in smoking cessation efforts to help deal with withdrawal symptoms and cravings caused by the loss of nicotine from cigarettes. Several forms of NRT have been marketed, including the nicotine patch, inhaler, nasal spray, gum, sublingual tablet, and lozenge. As a method of delivering nicotine into the bloodstream, NRT is thought to be is a comparatively less dangerous method than tobacco smoking[citation needed]. Cigarettes cause the early deaths of about 5 million people each year[1]. These people are not killed by the nicotine in the cigarette, but by other constituents of tobacco smoke such as Carbon Monoxide and the other 4000 chemicals present in tobacco[citation needed]. It is the nicotine that keeps the smoker addicted.

Thanks for all friends

Nicotine is a drug that is inhaled from the tobacco in cigarettes. It gets into the bloodstream and stimulates the brain. Most regular smokers are addicted to nicotine.

If you are a regular smoker, when the blood level of nicotine falls, you usually develop withdrawal symptoms such as restlessness, increased appetite, inability to concentrate, irritability, dizziness, constipation, nicotine craving, or just feeling awful. These symptoms begin within a few hours after having the last cigarette. If they are not relieved by the next cigarette, withdrawal symptoms get worse. If you do not smoke any more, the withdrawal symptoms peak after about 24 hours, and then gradually ease over about 2-4 weeks.

So, most smokers smoke regularly to feel 'normal', and to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
About 2 in 3 smokers want to stop smoking but, without help, many fail to succeed. The main reason why so few smokers succeed, even though they want to stop smoking, is because nicotine addiction is strong and difficult to break. This is where NRT can help.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy such as patches, gums and inhalers should be available free of smokers wanting to quit, the national charity has said.

NRT is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. There are nicotine gums, patches, inhalers, tablets, lozenges, and sprays. You can buy most of these from pharmacies and other retail outlets. They are also available on prescription.

The manufacturing costs of nicotine replacement therapies are only marginally higher than those of cigarettes and the like. The selling price of nicotine replacement therapies is only marginally lower than tobacco products, despite the bulk of cigarette costs being taxes and duties. To this end the pharmaceutical companies are making huge profits on nicotine replacement therapy products by taking the 'tax chunk' as profit. illness tips
