Default Liposuction vs. Weight Loss Pills for a Great Beach Body - 05-15-2013, 02:24 PM

Liposuction isn’t a great weight loss tool. Indeed, the procedure isn’t recommended for patients who are hoping to lose more than 6 pounds of weight. But liposuction can provide patients with aesthetically pleasing curves that really complement the body and many patients sign up for the procedure in the winter months, before beach-season rolls around rather than trying another diet that doesn’t work. As long as patients follow a good diet, exercise, and adhere to a healthy lifestyle, the results from liposuction surgery are long-term. Though liposuction isn’t for everyone, it can help patients achieve a very respectable beach body in a very short period of time.
Some people of average weight, diet and exercise for years without ever realizing their weight loss goals. A little bit of extra fat may be situated around the waist or in the thighs and these people mistakenly believe that they can get rid of the fat by adhering to a restrictive diet and a heavy exercise regime. In reality, the weight would eventually melt away, but patients would need to starve themselves or jog twenty miles per day to see the results. Since most of us don’t have that kind of time or motivation, liposuction offers a palatable alternative. It’s possible to get rid of fat anywhere on the body using liposuction, even places that diet and exercise don’t seem to impact.
Unfortunately, many people try out weight loss products to try to shed extra pounds before summer, sometimes doing more damage than good to their bodies. Many diet pills, for example, haven’t been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety or effectiveness. Not only are these drugs potentially harmful, but there is also a decent chance that they won’t work at all. Patients lose time and money working with these products and become frustrated by the lack of progress even though there is a solution to their problems. Liposuction produces unmistakable results that complement the whole figure, not just one area of the body. Though everyone has a “problem area” on the body, liposuction can help bring out a patient’s strengths without all the suffering and restriction that’s necessary with certain diet and exercise programs.
Though many patients assume that weight loss pills and products that are on the market are legitimate and even approved by the FDA, many of them create fake review web sites that mislead customers. Often, the claims made by the weight loss products are not supported by scientific evidence. Patients who are committed to losing weight and looking great this summer at the beach are urged to consider liposuction treatments rather than pills. Though liposuction is more invasive than weight loss pills, the risks involved are fully disclosed and the procedure involves little risk when it is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. Some patients could end up spending about the same amount of money buying pills as they would for a simple liposuction procedure. Though pills could perhaps result in some weight loss, liposuction promises a safer result (when performed by a qualified physician) and predictability in comparison with pills. Patients who go with liposuction to get that great beach body can enjoy knowing what to expect from the procedure and how their body is going to look after it has fully recovered from the procedure.
