My grandmother has arthritis in her hands and she takes medication, but it only helps to a certain extent.I was wondering if there were any supplements or natural treatments that may help her?

There is a book called"There is a cure for arthritis"By a man named Pablo Airola. The library has it or you can order it at the book store. Good luck and Godspeed.

You can ask her to take glucosamine sulphate with MSM and chondrotin. That works fairly well. In traditional chinese medicine, ginger helps as it eliminates'wind'that may be trapped in between the joints. Hot compression relieves arthritic pains temporarily.

If you are looking at alternative therapies for Arthritus, i recommend you look at Massage therapy, Chiropractic treatments (there are many different methods to look into) Tai Chi or mild yoga. And make sure Grandmom is eating a healthy diet, without too much animal protein.

I have been finding information about diet affecting arthritis. Medical doctors will tell you that the two are not related, but there are quite a few YouTube videos and books that seem to prove that diet is a key to overcoming it.

If its for a more mature individual I would advise you try to avoid the use of too many prescription meds as drugs all have side effects and some are harsh for elderly individuals. I am fairly young (early 20s) and I avoid meds as much as I can and I would advise anyone to do the same unless absolutely necessary.
However, as previously stated, non-invasive treatments would probably work best eg. yoga, exercise, physiotherapy with ultrasound treatment etc. Personally, I use ice baths and my ultrasound machine. The intensity of the cold might be overwhelming for your grandma but ultrasound should work fine. Hope this helps and hope she finds relief quickly.
