ADD medicines are stimulants -- they help keep the frontal lobe area of the brain active so that the body isn't trying to find other ways of keeping it active. Not sure about how it relates to depression or anxiety though.

They stimulate the frontal cortex of the brain, which is actually has inhibitory neurons. Frontal cortex also is good for concentration and inhibits distraction.

the drug shuts off receptors in the brain to controll your activity level, which is very similar to depression so you could say that ADERALL and RIDILIN cause ppl to go into mini depressions to control their activity lvs

mostly it works backwards, first you have a happy a.d.d. /verses/.applied school system=and then you have discipline they problem of the depression takes effect from the subordination qualities of the subjected to discipline to get them to pay attention to something other than their own wants: now if you a (regulator) usually they are sociopathic parents or teachers or both, and you want them to obey u (a.d.d. guy or girl) give them drugs and they fall apart, but they do sit well in a chair and don't want to move much because it makes them very sick allot and when the people think they want to get better class room work they just give them more and soon the kid is a zombie and the teacher has all the other kids listening and doing well because they drug the disruptive kid into a coma everyday, what else is new?

The medicine helps me to focus. A simple example is filling out a form - usually I jump all over the place. If on my medication, I complete it sequentially. No, doesn't really matter with a form but in other things I need that focussing. It somehow helps my brain to slow down and not jump around so much.My guess is that people with ADHD are more likely to have depression or anxiety. Most people I know with ADHD have or did have depression.
