Default What does birth control do to your period during the first 6 months? - 12-27-2008, 02:38 PM

I'm getting married this June and this will be the first time my fiance and I will have sex. We're extremely excited!! I need birth control for obvious reasons, and I'm worried about an unpredictable period during our honeymoon. That would ruin a lot of things! I need help!!!!!!!

Birth control actually regulates your period which means that you will have it at about the same time each month. If you think that you will be on your period during your honeymoon, you can prevent your period for that month. The set of pills in the fourth week are inactive since this is the week of your period. In order to skip your period, do not take those inactive pills and start a new pack of pills (active ones) instead. You will not have period. I will suggest that you only do this when you absolutely need to.

start taking the bc pills two weeks before the wedding, then you have about ten days free before you take the other color of pill which is when you have your period, your periods will be very regular then. you need to take them for two weeks at least to be sure you wont get pregnant, you could start taking them two months ahead of your wedding if you want then your system will be all balanced, just mark your wedding day and then count backward from there so that you are on the real pills and not the pills you take during your period. as soon as you go to the pills that are another color, they are a placebo and your period will start in a day or so.
