the doctor would not have you do anything that will harm the baby. I think the doctor believes that the good outweighs the bad effects of the drug and the procedure in this situation. If you are that worried, could you wait until you give birth, or no?

I have never had a bone marrow biopsy so I really don't know for sure. However, I was 26 weeks pregnant and I was given Demerol and some other pain medications while I was in the hospital with blood clot. I had very bad backaches and I needed something for the pain just for a few days. My baby was born just fine, so I am sure the morphine will not hurt your baby. It sounds like you will only be taking the pain medication for a short time so I doubt it will hurt your child at all.Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

Is this blood disorder something that could be potentially life threatening? If not, ask what the risks of waiting until baby comes. Any form of narcotics is never good for a fetus, but if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary, then that's what needs to happen.Good luck hun - just sit down with your doctor and ask about the risks and see if it is something you are comfortable with...
