Like with most risks in life, lung cancer is a possible consequence of smoking but not everyone develops it. Think of it like this: when you get in a car you run the risk of getting into an accident, but everyone who gets into a car doesn't get into an accident.

Because the anti smoking lobby made all that up. Smoking is great for relieving stress and a smoke after good sex is also mandatory. So therefore with that all said for the non- smokers I guess they are not getting good sex..

The same reason some people who never smoke do get lung cancer. Genetics and luck.

my own personal theory that no one wants to hear - smoking creates a tar coating on the lungs. It's kind of like paving your driveway with asphalt - you cover it up so nothing gets through to the underside.

That's how I feel about smoking. I think it covers your lungs so cancer, etc. can't get through. I know everyone in the medical community and people who know people who've died of lung cancer will disagree, but that is what I think.
