Default I havve some questions about lung cancer...? - 02-11-2010, 09:01 PM

I just found out my grandad has lung cancer. He's not a little feeble old man either, so it came as a bit of a shock to me. He's 98 and over 6 foot and always does his gardening and goes to the gym to keep fit and is rarely ill.

I think he's starting therapy next week.

What do you think the chances of him being alright are?
how serious is lung cancer?
how likely is it that the therapy will be successful?
What can i expect?
HE''s 68* not '98'

People live years with cancer. But he's an old man and seems to be very healthy. wow. I wish i still had my grandfather. If hes starting therapy it should be good. But your question requires alto of factors to really get a clear answer.

My mother died of lung cancer when she was 63.
Was he a smoker? Does he still smoke?
What was his job when he worked?
My grandfather also died of lung cancer. He had it for a year, and it spread to his brain.
I know another man who was diagnosed with lung cancer who survived 20 YEARS,
so don't give up hope. Be at his side as much as you can. I regret not being able to do that with my grandpa.
