Default Decrease chance of skin cancer while SUN tanning? - 01-08-2009, 07:25 PM

I tan really well, but I'm worried about getting too much sun exposure when I tan. I'm really worried about increasing my risk of getting skin cancer when I'm older. I can't go to tanning salons and I'm not looking for sprays or lotions.I just bought a SPF 10 sunscreen that has a tanning boost. How much would that lower my chance of getting skin cancer when I'm older? And what is the actual percentage of people who get skin cancer from over-tanning when younger, if anybody knows?Thank you =)

all i know is that small regular sun sessions will reduce your chance of getting skin cancer and will actually help your skin build up a slight resistance. Just try not to ever get burnt

There is no such thing as a"healthy"tan. That is like saying you have a healthy amount of tar in your lungs from smoking. If you want to decrease your chances of skin cancer don't let yourself get tan from being out in the sun too long. There is no healthy dose.
