I was just wondering how you know if you have skin cancer...I don't think i have it or anything..I am just curious.

First of all you would have a suspicious looking lesion or mole on the skin. i.e. a mole that changes in size, color.Then you see a dermatologist and they remove the lesion and send it for a biopsy report which will tell the doc what type of lesion it is. The report usually takes a week to ten days to get back from the lab.

i didnt think i had it either...it was a mole...but it started bleeding one day so i got it removed and im glad i did!!

You see a dermatologist. If a spot is getting bigger, or if you have some sort of dark spot that is changing shape, see a doc. Not all doctors recognise skin cancer when they see it. It is also possible to get it behind your eyes. People say it looks like they have something in their eye.

A shiny area of tight-looking skin, especially on the face, that looks like a scar and has poorly defined edges. It sometimes takes the form of a sore or pimple that does not heal. The sore may bleed or ooze fluid, or crust or scab over, and then ooze or bleed again.

You should check your Skin when change a mole size, Shape or color. If your mole start to big and becomes as large as or longer than a eraser and it is not brown but your skin is multi colored then you should immediately go to a doctor. Because it may be happen you have skin cancer.
