I am no doctor, but I think I would try using a wrist band of some sort, to give support to the wrist, and maybe lay off the knitting for a short period of time, so as not doing it daily. Daily repetition, doing the same thing over and over will definitely cause carpal tunnel if you do it long enough. But I definitely would check with your doctor for expert advise. Maybe doing some stretching excercises for the hand and wrist,, and even your arms might help.
