Cholesterol is a type of lipid. Sugar is a carbohydrate. Usually, the body takes the sugar and uses it to obtain energy. If you eat to much sugar, the body transforms it into glycogen and lipids, to keep it, just in case... On the other hand, the molecule of cholesterol comes from a special kind of lipids (steroids), that hardly come "from sugar". You must eat them. If you eat too many sources of cholesterol, its blood concentration rises.
In my opinion, the answer to your question is "NO".
