I'm doing a persuasive essay on turning vegetarian and I heard meat is high in cholesterol. However I need to know what it can cause like weight gain etc. Thanks.
High Cholesterol causes plaque in arteries which in turn makes the passages in your veins narrower which can cause a person to die from blood clots if the blood platelets stick together and then go free they can travel to the heart to the lungs and even to the brain.
It causes `plaque` that builds up on the walls of your arteries, almost blocking them. This can lead to things like heart attacks, or Angina and blood clots - because the blood cannot circulate freely through the narrowed arteries.
It can cause heart attacks, strokes, heart disease, high blood pressure because cholesterol causes the arteries to harden or narrow. Also, 17 per cent of the American adult population suffer from high cholesterol. hope this helps a bit
