My friends mother is 67 and she's just been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, but all the info I can find says its a condition you are born with and the average life expectancy is only 36.8 years. Is this possible? has she been miss diagnosed? She was diagnosed in Algeria and I know that their healthcare system isn't as advanced as ours.
Cystic Fibrosis is a condition with which you don't make a specific protein because of the way your genetic Information is. You can't develop it later in life because that would mean your DNA has changed so no, i can't image that she was correctly diagnosed.
