So our 4-month-old had a bowel movement after drinking formula (that's all she drinks still), and it kinda looks like balls of formula as her stool. Not the normal brown. Sorta white and with a little mucus. Is this a digestive thing, or a yeast problem? My wife and I weren't sure.BTW...we're talking about one stool. All the others prior to this one have been fine. We are calling the doctor, we just want have a sense of what it might be.

I would take her to the doctors when they open tomorrow as that is not normal. My first baby was formula feed and her poop was never like that. My second is strictly breastfeed and hers is just gross!

First off, don't stress yet. If it's a one time thing I would keep an eye on it. Does she act like she's in pain? Has she seemed to be losing weight? Is she gaining weight? Does she seem satisfied after eating? One thing I've learned...baby poop is weird. Sounds funny...but it's true. I've seen some weird colors in my four month old son...I've been surprised. If her next BM appears that way then I would call the doctor and get an opinion. It could be just a one time weird occurence. If she's not acting like she's in pain I don't know that it would be a digestive issue. I take it that since you noticed the mucous that it might have been diarrhea? If so, make sure she's staying hydrated. The best advice I can offer for right now is to keep an eye on her, and her stools, and if it stays the same or she appears to be losing weight, dehyrdrated, or in any pain, then go to the doctor. I hope that helps.
