Default What to eat before exercising for more energy? - 12-19-2008, 04:03 PM

Hi everyone,For the past 2-3 weeks I've changed my exercise regimen...I found this park near my house and I've been running/walking more and noticed that I feel sluggish in the middle of running. I'm pretty sure I need to eat more or eat the right energy foods before exercising for more energy but what are some of your suggestions? Here's what I have in my fridge/closet... bananas, strawberries, grapes, kellogs Special K bar, kudos bar, whey protein, bread, fat free pringles. which of these foods are good for great energy during my work out and after and when should I eat them? Or which other foods do you recommend?

Banana or an apple (apple one hour before). They will give you healthy energy.

Any of the above, but not immediately before your exercise routine. But what you really need is a general overhaul on your whole diet regimen if you're tiring out before your finished.

There's also the possibility that you just need to show a bit more patience while your body adjusts itself to its new routine. Wait til the seratonin kicks in, then your body will be begging for more.

And finally, you might want to try a B12/B6/Folic Acid complex. The one I take gives the most amazing results in overcoming any fatigue due to extra physical strain, or even stress. Typically, I take one in the morning, but if I'm expecting a difficult day for some reason, I just pop another under my tongue around noon, and my energy will hold up until the pillow beckons that night.

It all depends on your fitness goals. Are you trying to lose weight? Trying to bulk up?I hope you're drinking lots of water, either way. Its important to stay hydrated. You really should not eat before exercising. It causes blood to go to the stomach for digestion instead of your muscles that are working so hard! Eat after for maximum benefit. They do sell energy gels that can be ingested during your workout. I recommend those. You need Vegetables, man. Anything green, orange, red. Five a day the color way!Stick with complex carbohydrates. You should probably avoid the bread and add more protein to your diet.

Before your work out have a banana. After the work out have a ultra slim fast shake if you are trying to loose weight and if you are trying to gain muscle have a protein shake with strawberry and after that have a very healthy meal like fish with veggies and something like that...

You can eat fresh fruits like apples, watermelon, oranges, etc. before you go for an exercise. It will surely give you more energy for it contains vitamins which strengthens our body.
