Default What is the best way to start exercising? - 01-12-2009, 11:01 PM

Currently I do no exercise what so ever., though I have purchaed an ab shark from thane direct (proberly a waste of money). I have a bike which has hardly ever been used (but I live in a fairly hilly area, that's why I've no continued with it. I don't want to join a gym as I am very self-conscious about my weight (204lbs @ 5ft 7) I want to try exercising in my home but have no idea where to start.I am dieting - been on for a week and lost 4lbs - not a lot I know but pleased with that I know I should exercise as well but as mentioned don't know where to begin. Thanks everyone so far

treadmills are a very useful investment. for maybe 30-45 minutes each day and eating healthy, you might feel better and possibly feel less conscious about your weight. you could always listen to the radio, read, or talk on the phone while you're running/walking, so that it doesn't feel so boring.

start........that is the simplest thing to overcome....stop dreaming about how or why or when, or with who....start doing it, just do it, and as Nike commercial goes Just Do It!!!!!!,if you need a how much then start out at a pace or difficulty that will permit you to do the next day as well...now get off the computer and do it....

I always feel that I will do some exercise but I couldn't manage because I am an inconsistent person. But day by day I became fatter. I will surely do some work on it.

Exercise is a best way to reduce the weight,Lots of way to start exercise like morning walk,join gym,swimming etc, you have to do yoga also,you have to doing dance,It was provide fun with exercise.

the largest challenge you will face is changing your lifestyle. Lots of of us have created bad habits over a the years & changing these requires a committed work to consciously recognize & change a quantity of these patterns.

I would like to suggest walking. Start with 10 minutes a day. This way, you will be investing in your fitness program without feeling the pressure of doing more than you are able. But, if you feel like you can do more on any given day, do it. In that, you exceed your expectations and feel great about yourself, rather than under performing and feeling less that totally accomplished. You will start to see and feel the results of your fitness training, feel better about yourself, and inspired to do more, quickly.

- Walking
- Jogging
- Yoga Exercise
- Swimming

The best thing to do to start exercising is to try a couple of things and see what you enjoy. Exercise should make you happy otherwise you wont stick to it. Once you found an activity you like doing set aside a set amount of time each week and do it, no matter what. Make it part of your routine.
