And if your vision is not right can you wear glasses or contacts. Or can you like do a laser surgery?

Contray to popular belief, your vision only has to be correctable to 20/20. This means you can wear glasses, contacts, or have lasik surgery.

It depends what type of flying you intend to do. If you are trying to become a military pilot you will typically need 20/20 vision to qualify for pilot training. Waivers are available in some cases but this is a general rule. Different branches have different rules about accepting candidates who have had laser surgery so you should check with a recruiter. If you intend to fly for the airlines you need to have vision that is able to be corrected to 20/20. If you want t0 fly privately you need to have vision that is able to be corrected to 20/40. As a airline or private pilot you can wear glasses or contacts. Military pilots need a waiver to start pilot training with glasses but many veteran military pilots wear glasses once their vision deteriorates over the course of their career as the investment made in their training is to great to disqualify them based on this.

Good to know! I wear contacts and planning on getting a private pilot's license sometime this year. Wish me luck!
