How do you just start a healthy lifestyle?

Default How do you just start a healthy lifestyle? - 03-05-2009, 08:01 AM

I have tried way to many times to be healthy. I know what to do i know what to eat, and how to exersise, but how do i start and keep going, i need to really start now, i am 5'6 and 157 lbs. Way to much.. help!

  • Improve joint stability
  • Increase and improve range of movement
  • Help maintain flexibility as you age
  • Maintain bone mass
  • Prevent osteoporosis and fractures
  • Improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
  • Enhance self esteem
  • Improve memory in elderly people
  • Reduce stress

I think the hardest part is taking that first step. Then, You can start with smaller steps. Reduce sedentary activity in your home and workplace and encourage others to join you for a walk, an exercise class, or just by taking the stairs rather than the elevator. If you're going to be exercising at home, put on the right clothing for it as this way it'll encourage you that little bit extra.

There are many tips, tricks and ideas that people have to help you live a healthy lifestyle. Not only are there a lot of ways but there are a lot of people telling you what to do to live a healthy lifestyle. I expect that you know more than you give yourself credit for and besides listening to me, you should take these following ideas and leverage them with the knowledge you already have to live a lifestyle that will make you happy and healthy.

Self awareness is important in allowing yourself to identify exactly who you are. Knowing what your character is, what your thoughts, values, weaknesses and strengths are defines who you are. Low self esteem and negative thinking are major impacts on your health, both physically and mentally. Personal growth is an asset that allows you to find your purpose in life, your spirituality and inner peace. Self acceptance is crucial in life because it not only impacts you personally, it impacts all of those around you.

Hello,

Any process start with a small step so don't try to go for everything at one time. Start eating healthy food and also start morning walk. Later once you are done with it go for gym and start exercise. This way very soon you will feel changes in your daily routine and health too.

I'm a health consultant and help my clients deal with the same issue all the time. I think the most important thing to do is to take it slowly. Take it day by day and step by step. Don't make too many drastic changes all at once because you'll become overwhelmed and won't stick to them. Try a new change each week. You're first one might be eating fruits & veggies at every meal. Your second one could be giving up soda...and so on and so on. Basically, give yourself one assignment a week, and you'll get there!

well i used to have a bad life style then one day i decided to do some self improvement
first i tried to quit smoking and reduced alcohol consumption
then i started to have balance diet and exercise regularly.

a good way to keep going and stay motivated is to not be alone!
a friend of mine invited me over with a few friends to see what he had been doing
to keep his healthy lifestyle going and he says its all about getting the people around
you to get involved and get healthy with you.
