What's the word for someone learning a language by hearing others?

Default What's the word for someone learning a language by hearing others? - 01-16-2009, 08:01 AM

For example: A child learns how to speak by hearing his parents speak. Children at the age of about 5 to 10 also learn by hearing others speak such as teachers and friends. I trying to find a word for that meaning.
