Default How should a teenager meet new people? – 01-18-2009, 03:01 PM

I’m a teenager, and a friend and I want to meet new people. I go to a small school and play a club sport, but I already know everybody. I don’t want to meet people through facebook or something (way too risky) and I don’t just want to walk up to strangers in the mall. What are some activities that don’t cost alot of money but are good for making new friends?

Pigeon wrangling is cheap. All you need is a rope and a pair of chaps.

Attend a party with someone you know. If there is alcohol there, you don’t have to drink. Chances are though, you’ll meet kids from other schools.

Try asking your friends, if you can meet there friends. Like plan to go to the movies with some friends, and tell your friends to bring someone that you don’t know. I’ve been introduced to some really awesome people that way. My friend Jannell has gone to a different high school and at the fair she brought a load of her new school mates.

Teenagers with social anxiety disorder are afraid of doing simple things in public and even if they know that their fear is unreasonable, they cannot control their fears. For instance, teens with social phobia are afraid to eat or drink in front of other people, render oral reports, participate in school social events, engage in conversations and meet new people. Teens with this disorder usually avoid social situations and events because they think they might get embarrassed or criticized. It is hard for them to nurture friendship, make new friends and create romantic relationships. This condition keeps them from enjoying life with their friends and family. illness tips

There are a number of different ways to remember names. This one is both easy and fun. This is the time for you, the parent, to step in and instil your values on your kids. If you can let your teenager have a separate bedroom, you should do so.

Visit school of your neighbour friend, tell him/her to introduce you with classmates, in this way you will find good and interesting persons.
