Most places will not do it until you are technicallly done developing. This is usually the early 20's. Most REPUTABLE doctors will not do Lasik until you have had a stability in your vision for 2 years or more. You can read more about it with Dr. Maloney at maloneyvision.com he wrote a best selling book about lasik and does most of the FDA trials for proceedures and new equipment that is coming out in the US. They can also send you to a reputable person in your area. There are other things to consider other than your age, though. Corneal thickness, current medications, other health issues, what kind of correction you need, all these things plus others are what a doctor should look at to determine when it is best for YOU. As an individual you need someone that will customize the experience for you and that includes WHEN you should have it done. Does that make sense? (I do not work for Dr. Maloney...he is just who I consider the best source of information from my information.)
