Here are the common blood tests for Lupus:
ANA (anti nuclear antibody test). The higher the titer the more likely the possibility that you have an AUTO IMMUNE disease, not necessarily Lupus. An ANA test is a NON SPECIFIC test and will be positive in about 5% of the population without an auto immune disease. The other 95% have some type of auto immune disease but not only Lupus. There are hundreds of possibilities.
DS-DNA (double strand DNA test) - If you test positive here there's a 95% chance that you have Lupus. However, many people with Lupus do not test positive for this test.
Anti-Ro, Anti-SM (smith) both blood tests that will help confirm a diagnosis but if negative you can still have the disease.
ASO- strep titer..to rule out strep virus and diseases like Rheumatic Fever.
