Absolutely. I started going through it at age 40. Unfortunately for me, my mother had not shared the info that women in our family tend to start early, so it hit me kind of hard (I have no children). Please talk to your family to see what the history is, and see your Dr and ask all the questions you can think of. THere are many natural supplements to help the hot flashes and night sweats.
By the way, when I first asked my Dr if I was going through it, he tested me for pregnancy! LOL. Good luck, I'm here for you.

It is rare but yes it does happen. They can do a blood test to determine if one is in menopause.

yes there is - but go to the doctor - it is rare and could indicate a different problem. pregnancy....an eating disorder will stop your period....tumors.....see your doctor immediately

Yes and I have been going through it for about the last eight years or so.

At that time all of a sudden I just stopped having periods. The very first one I missed I did an immediate pregnancy test because I had my tubes tied in 1989.

From 1998 to 2000 I didn't have a period at all. I went to the doctor for it and they couldn't find an explanation for it so we just let it go.

About the beginning of 2001 I started having them again for no apparent reason they just started again. I asked my mother how old she was when she started going through it and she said that she was about 34 by 54 she was all of the way through.

I recently had another pregnancy test done because I missed another period and I have been having them normal again for about five years. Not pregnant. I went to the doctor he ran a blood test and told me I am 1/4 of the way through menopause.

So in answer to your questions there is an early menopause but it still takes about twenty years to get through it. Good Luck and God Bless.

Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age in species that experience such cycles. Menopause is sometimes referred to as change of life or climacteric.

Perimenopause refers to the time preceding menopause, during which the production of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone diminishes and becomes more irregular. During this period fertility diminishes. Menopause is arbitrarily defined as a minimum of twelve months without menstruation. Perimenopause can begin as early as age 35, although it usually begins much later. It can last for a few months or for several years. The duration of promenades cannot be predicted in advance.

There are certain cases the menopause starts even at the age of 35 as explained above. Nothing to worry and please consult your gynecologist and she will give some medication for relief.

Yes there is. Menopause simply means to stop or the end of menstruation, and when this occur before the age of forty (40), it is refer ed to as early menopause. When a woman who is below forty start having irregular periods, I think it is best to see a doctor. But, menopause is no ailment or disease, it can be well managed and you still feel healthy and young within you as usual.
