What is the difference between a threatening miscarriage and a miscarriage?

Is the baby still alive and does it still have a chance of surviving if you are having a threatening miscarriage?

If its a threatening miscarriage then the baby is still alive and it does not have to end in a miscarriage.

it means there is a high chance of m/c but it may not happen. like if the baby if still there with a heartbeat and you're bleeding

a threatened miscarriage is where you bleed but the baby will survivea miscarriage is where the baby does not survive
