Nutrition is one component of health. It's the study of food, how food is made up, and how each individual nutrient contributes to a person's overall health.
Nutrition is only one way to protect your health, though. Other lifestyle habits (smoking, exercise frequency, etc.), genetics (being predisposed to a disease), safety habits (wearing a seat belt, not picking bar fights, etc), emotional well-being (do you put yourself in abusive situations?, is your life full of stress?) and several other factors all are essential to determining how healthy someone is.
