Default Soy Milk, Almond Milk, or Organic Pure Filtered Cow's?? - 08-18-2011, 04:54 PM

Ok, so first of all I'm not a huge milk drinker. This question is more for my fiance who drinks milk like it's going out of style.

I'm really not a fan of soy because of the phytoestrogens it contains and can't eat it at all because of an endocrine disorder. It tends to make all my problems worse. As I still need to use something for cooking/baking (and those rare occasions of a teensy glass with a banana oat cookie) soy is out of the question for us.

We actually bought the Silk Almond milk not long ago on the advice of a friend and I like that it lasts longer compared to traditional cow's milk. My fiance was raving about it! And I was super close to putting it into a smoothie before I decided I would read the ingredients just to be the snoop I am. The minute I saw gum compounds I put it down and I wonder how healthy it really is.

So last but not least what about the good old fashioned cow? We used to buy Organic Pure filtered milk (that means no antibiotics or hormones) and I'm wondering how the artificial milks stack up to it. If it were up to me I'd stick with cow's milk just from personal preference.

What do you guys think? What do you use at home and what do you think is the healthiest choice?
