I've had multiple blocks and been on different medications. I also have a spinal cord stimulator (SCS). I think the SCS has probably helped me the most- I still have horrible, deep pain (it feels like someone is twisting a hot corkscrew through my bones) but it helps to keep the hypersensitivity and burning pain on my skin at bay. Tramadol (I'm at 400mg/day) helps a little bit- while I'm taking it there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of improvement, but I sure know about it if I try skipping a dose. I've also used fentanyl patches at times- they certainly help with the pain but the side effects for me weren't so great...Admittedly, I'm very much at the severe end of the scale as far as CRPS goes- I have also developed spastic dystonia as a complication of my CRPS which causes a lot of pain in its own right- I have tried oral medications and botox injections for this with no luck, and am now scheduled to have a trial for an intrathecal drug pump.I hope that you find something that works for you. The important thing to remember is that everyone responds differently to the treatments, so don't lose heart if something doesn't work for you. Please feel free to get in touch if I can offer any more advice.
