My sister used to cut herself and also tweeze every hair on her body(except her girliie region, head, and eyebrows.) She said it didnt hurt as much as not cutting or tweeezing. She has since stopped. Partly on her own and with a bit of help from therapist.

i've done many things to relieve stress, but self-injury isn't one of them ! i don't exactly know if it has to deal with stress at all. i've read many cases here in Q&A, and it makes me wonder. i haven't heard though for such cases in my country, and i can't stop wondering whether it's growing rapidly in the U.S and if, why ? i hope people and especially young girls, really get to understand that they have to deal with a strong personality disorder and have to seek only for professional help. feeling stressed about things and feel depressed sometimes is a case. many people feel like this nowdays.. but injure yourself ? very serious and pretty dangerous. good for you posing such a question...hope many will start finding solutions...

I tried once to slightly stab myself on the side (I won't bore you with the circumstances), but it only made me angrier against those whom I was angry at who drove me to do it in the first place. This is why I skip it alltogether and go straight to injuring OTHERS instead (martial arts are a great help to fight stress). Seriously, it's exercise and it lets you get your stress and worries out in a safe environment, while teaching you some kind of philosophy about life in general.
