It's quite good- it gets you very flexible, improves your balance, and will get you a bit stronger too.

However, I would recommend doing basic Gymnastics instead- it incoperates allot of Yoga, but has more strength training involved to- and is generally more strenuous.

Gymnastics has many different forms- it's not all backflips and one armed pull ups- I suggest trying to learn a few of the `basic` (still hard!) static positions, along with whichever yoga you wish to do.

These are:
Front Lever
Back Lever
L Sit
Planche

I doubt you can do any of these at the moment, but there are many progressions for each. Your age doesn't matter- I'v seen men over the age of 60 doing advanced gymnastics, having only started learning at your age!
