Thyroid issues in general are fairly common, but usually it's Hypoactive Thyroid. Hyperactive Thyroid is a little less common, but happens nonetheless. Your medicine will help to slow down the Thyroid activity, which in turn will help you gain weight. Ask your doctor some more questions.

the thyroid medicine won't make you gain weightbut if your already over weight its so hard to loosewait while taking the pill.hyperactive thyroid is common and don't worry ifyou didn't get it Treated in time you could’ve suffered very severe problems in the future.you will most likely be on a pill called cinthroid(sin-thror-de).good luck !daniella

hyper active thyroid is not uncommon. increased thyroid hormone level makes you eat a lot and still lose weight. I guess you won't be gaining much weight if you take your medication (you have to check it out), but you risk a lot of trouble if you don't take it.
